Day 49 & 50:
A big hello from a small town here, Aarau...but not small at all when it comes to its enchanting beauty....
We took the train from Basel and it took us just about 35 minutes to reach Aarau...
This was a double decker train...we were sitting at the top...
Ok the dream is over now.... time to start naughtiness...
Morning breakfast with mumma and papa...
and we have arrived...
The main attraction of this town are the streets lined with century old buildings and many have grand roofs hanging out well beyond the facade over the streets., their timber undersides painted beautifully with artworks...
And a small cafe for our snack break...
Ashvat and mumma, play in the fountain again...
The river Arae...
Somebody's private garden with a pear and an apple tree..loaded with fruit on them and also fallen on the ground... looked very tempting but could not cross the barricade...
Ashvat and papa entertain themselves while I take a quick peep into this cute shop...
Cute little paper shop...
Ashvat practicing his vocals as we wait for the museum to open the Diether Roth show...
The Aarau sunset...
Facade of the museum...
Finally at the show...
Ashvat taking art lessons from papa...
Heading back home now...
Quick dinner: Anda bhuji with parantha...
This closes our day 49....
Start of Day 50:
Half century :-)
Lazy lazy day and the lazy bones kept getting in and out of bed till about 12 noon...
Finally the bath time arrived...
Ashvat :"Hmmm, looks quite tasty"...
Ashvat: "lets try some...."
Ashvat: "oye bale bale!!"...
Ashvat: "oh, even this is quite tasty"
Hairbrush for Ashvat and cornflakes with toast and the cheese sampling for us...
Dressed and off to Germany to buy some grocery....long but a good walk....
After the shopping...Snack time for everyone...
Ashvat discovers the art of making bubbles :-)
see the difference in the water levels...
The ship sail into these channels with huge iron door walls...once it is locked inside this channel...the water level is increased or decreased according to the direction it is going...and once the water level becomes the same as the river then the doors are slowly opened for the ship to pass....it was nice to see the technique..
And then we headed back home and on our way spotted these domesticated billy goats in a farm...who were quite friendly, all they wanted was to be fed....:-)
and with full sing-song all the way, we reached home...:-)
No dinner for tonight...the snack was too much...
see you again tomorrow, till then take care and god bless...bye!!

To enter Germany you have to cross this huge dam on the river Rhine...and while we were crossing it, we got to witness how the big cargo ships cross this dam everyday...there was a remarkable difference in the water levels on each side...
The ship sail into these channels with huge iron door walls...once it is locked inside this channel...the water level is increased or decreased according to the direction it is going...and once the water level becomes the same as the river then the doors are slowly opened for the ship to pass....it was nice to see the technique..

Riddhi very nice post..the double decker train was sweet and the paintings on the insides of the roofs were so pretty, reminded me of kundan jewellery minakari. The flowers on the windowsills as well as the tiled streets look so beautiful and English. But one important observation beta..... DON'T make Ashvat sit on railings, he is not safe there. Please take care and lots of love to you all and big hugs too!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics again! My darling is just too cute!God bless him!Have sent you some recipes-check them out Riddhi.
ReplyDeletePapa agrees with Anju, He was just remarking about it the otherday...pls dont perch Ashvat on railings and wall edges...also the stroller near the embankment on the water`s edge whilst watching the duckies!it is safer to take precautions especially as he is in the jumpy jumpy stage.
Lots of love and hugs,Big big ones for my Handsome!
