Zürich done... now off to Geneva

Day: 44, 45 & 46 :-) Triple bonanza....

A day's rest after our trip to Zürich, some planning for our trip to Geneva... our tables are full of all kinds of brochures of things to do... so much to do, so little time : )

Rush to catch the train... and off we go

Geneva....
Our room at the youth hostel...

View from the balcony....

Our balcony...

The lake....

The whole city was like a big carnival, stalls, swings etc....

Someone is not liking the idea of being photographed at the moment (with no pants; maybe thats why)

Family picture...Mr. Ashvat is more interested in the balloons, naturally he is fed up of us making him pose all the time :-)

Behind us is Ile Rousseau, one of the five islands to pierce Europe's largest Alpine lake..

Ashvat says hello to the white snow tiger... He was scared, but my brave boy still wanted to touch it...

All set and seated for the fireworks....They are the biggest and the longest in the whole of Europe and they are synchronised with music...It was awesome...

and my ladoo went ot sleep...:-) and slept through the fireworks...

They were all kinds of colours and shapes...My favourite was the shooting star...can't tell you how beautiful it was....Then there were flowers, golden ribbons, golden dust, naughty curly crackers...it was mindblowing...

Some professional shots:

Aaahhh...didn't want it to end...it was like sitting in space...:-)

Ashvat up early as usual...and what is unusual is that papa is up to take the pictures :-)

View of the Jet D'eau from our balcony...

Morning breakfast and then we are out...

Just look at the cute smiles I am getting to speed up my porridge making

Too full....

and dreaming :-)

The famous Jet D'eau fountain, it is 140 m tall, shoots up water with incredible force from a small spout at the base, to create its sky-high plume...

On to the ferry to cross the lake....

India promotion in Geneva...

The famous flower clock...the most photographed clock.... made out of 6500 flowers...

As I am busy reading maps...Ashvat poses for papa...

Malbussion passage....the historic clock with 16 chimes and 13 bronze figures and chariots dancing every hour....

Design shops...

Chocolatier....

Limited edition cuckoo clocks...

 The swatch Museum...

The Hermes shop under renovation...
The design conscious people had even got the barricades and construction net with their branding on it...

Little picnic at the carnival...

All set for the boat cruise on the Lake Geneva...

Jet D'eau, up, close and personal...

The bronze mermaid sculpture...

and many many more things...:-)

and then we said goodbye to Geneva and hello to Basel....

A good morning to today, back in Basel...
Lazy and a very very tired Papa and his baby take a long nap together...

and then our good boy; papa, makes breakfast....:-)
French toast...

and then some more lazying around..

Lunch Menu: Matar paneer and Chawal..

Evening stroll...and Ashvat's day is made, lots of Duckies :-)

Then we fed the ducks...and they became really friendly and started coming towards us...for more food ofcourse...

and at this point mumma got scared and it was time to move on....

The angry sky with red clouds..the sunset...

and then we spotted a baby buck...and my little monkey couldn't stop squealing....so we fed this mumma and baby duck team some bread...

Back home....time for dinner now...

Menu: Masala Chicken and chapattis....

and so this is the end to the long 3 day blog...

enjoy everyone....

Bye....
